I don't have any experience with Alienware's machines, but I think in many ways they "get it right" (powerful machines, good customer service, style, etc.). I know you specifically asked about Alienware, but have you looked at Boxx Technologies (http://boxxtechnologies.com/Asp/modelsupercat.asp?modelsupercatid=1)?. They also have a good reputation, powerful machines *and* they offer computers preinstalled with SOFO software. Just thought I'd throw that out to you. :-)
