All the adaptors/cables you would ever need

If you need to carry a heap of different connectors/adaptors/cables with you, this just might be the answer

I picked mine up for about $50 (Oz dollars). The actual contents are:

USB A (male) to USB A (male) extending cable
USB A (female) to USB A (male) extending cable
Firewire 6 pin male to 6 pin male extending cable
Earphone, microphone extending cable
Firewire 6 pine female to 4 pin male adaptor(labelled friewire!!!!)
USB A (male) to USB A (male) adaptor
USB A (male) to mini 5 pin USB adaptor
USB A (male) to mini 4 pin USB adaptor
USB A (female) to RJ11 adaptor (two of these)
USB A (female) to RJ45 adaptor (two of these)

All in all, just about every adaptor and cable you would ever need!

Now why do my kids call me 'gadget man'???

Hey, is your name biggles a reference to Monty Python?

Maybe we should continue this thread along the lines off 'If you had to suggest an audio cable kit to a manufacturer what would you want to see included in it'?

Grazie,
I think Radio Spares or Farnell sell a cable minder screw on the way kind of thingy.

Or you can roll your own, length of 3"x1" timber, fit coat hooks od drill 1" holes and fit short lengths of dowel.
I tend to stick all my spare cables in the spare draw of the filing cabinet and what a tangled mess!

I need two Toslink 50 foot cables. The longest I have found is 10 meters.

10 meters is over 60 feet. I'm confused?

Regarding a good way to store/carry cable, get a 36" length or one meter length of industrial velcro. Use the female (furry) side as the long piece. Cut the male side into shorter, 6 or 8 inch strips. Now sew these so that the male side is running opposite the female side, one end only. This makes it hang from the longer piece like fringe, running parallel to the female side. Sew these every 4" or so. Now you've got one long piece of velcro with 6-8 cable holders built in, keeps them in order, can be tossed in the boot, can be thrown over a shoulder, or hanged on the wall. You can also buy these at the professional audio shops.

Um, I think ten metres is more like 30 feet. A metre is about 39 inches, so 10 metres would be 390 inches or 32.5 feet.

Duh, that's right...I don't know what I was thinking. I sure wish the US would go metric. Would save a lot of thinking. (or lack thereof on my part)
jjkizac, try http://www.lifatec.com/Lifusa_patchcords.htm. They have 30 meter cables, and custom make lengths as well. I don't remember dealing with them, but they're on our "approved" vendor list. Might have been a tradeshow thing.
