@Former user So I still don`t know why other forum users don`t have problems with smooth playback of the same video file having similar GPUs, but I do still have. My GPU is in top 10-15 most efficient GPUs on market, but it has still problem with smooth playback.

@marcinzm It's more of a CPU efficiency problem. HEVC is a big problem where Vegas can only access a small portion of your CPU for playback, but even with AVC, where it can use 100% of your CPU it's not efficient at playback compared to other NLE's. The other problem is the GPU decoder causing lag, recognized by a large spike in the GPU Decoder activity while the preview lags. All those things add up to cause a lower quality experience. It has very little to do with GPUs and certainly not a powerful GPU like a 2080ti.

These trusted helper people you see on the forum go through the same steps to assist people with problems such that you have due to a possibility there is something to fix , but when your system is running fine, good drivers, good hardware, and Vegas settings are correct there's nothing more to do, it's in Vegas's hands to improve playback.
