AMD support in VP15 or VP16?

Hi!

In this forum the Vegas team recently said they have plans for improving support for AMD gp:s, not just nvidia etc that received a major support improvement with VP15. Well I changed over to AMD about six months ago, as many others have done too, and I suffer from slow timeline playback. Especially in multicam editing the preview lag makes the videos seem out of sync.

My question: Will AMD gpu support come in VP15? In that case I am ready to buy it right now to support Vegas and wait for a future update with AMD support. If not, I'd rather stay with VP14 which is rock solid for me (mostly), and wait for VP16 if that will have better timeline palyback with my AMD Radeon RX 480.

Any info on that?

cheers, Martin

No answer yet. Ok. So I bought Vegas 15 anyway. :)

But continuing to work with VP14 until I get time to install and try out 15.

AMD support is near the top of or priority list for File I/O updates. We will not have the comparable AMD rendering support ready for our first update, but we do intend to have something well before Vegas 16 is released. In general, File I/O tends to be the most dynamic part of the code base (especially when you add GPU/hardware support to the equation), so the AMD effort may be derailed temporarily by other needs due to format and/or driver updates.

Ok, thanks!
