"An Error Occurred While Saving the Project file"

Hello,

I have been using Vegas (The particular version I am using right now is Vegas Pro 15 Edit) for over a year now and can't remember having this issue until now. I just got a brand new computer with an i7 and 16GB of RAM (10 of which is dedicated to Vegas) yesterday and today I am having issues. Every time I try to save a project I get an error code "An error occurred while saving the project file" and that "The file could not be created". I have tried multiple fixes but nothing seems to work. After a couple saves it goes right back to the same error code. One of the projects, it actually got deleted, luckily I had a backup. All my Vegas files are saved on my external hard drive, but I am not having this issue on another computer. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program but nothing works. Any ideas on a fix? I really need Vegas to work.

Thanks!

I've had Vegas crash , but never had Vegas loose nor fail to save a project . That sounds bad .

While in Vegas , I only have it save to NON- C: drive . Anywhere else . using "Save As" for the first save . E drive , whatever , but Never C: . Using standard platter hard drive . No SSD here . No over-clocking here .

My laptop has a SSD drive so it should theoretically work better but isn’t. I don’t know what the issue is.

Try this to determine if your problem is a Windows permissions issue.

Thank you for your post, but after I tried this fix it didn’t work unfortunately. Then after I closed the project and opened it again it did and continued to work for a little over an hour, but now I am getting the same error code. Do you have any other ideas that could fix it?

So say, sometimes you CAN save to the disk, sometimes you CAN'T save to the same disk?

And this is an external USB drive?

Do I understand it right?

Yes I have all my saved projects on an external hardrive. I tried moving a project to my actual desktop and opening it and the same thing happened. I don’t have this issue with Vegas on my other computer so I don’t know what the issue is.
