An error occurred while writing a file

For some strange reason I am getting the following error during the overall prepare progress stage.

An error occurred while writing a file, Invalid data was encountered when processing an Mpeg file.

The funny thing about this error is that everything was prepared in VV using stock standard settings for PAL and standards settings for DVDA.

When I searched the Fourms this error has come up before but I notice that no input from Sony was forthcoming.

Does anyone have a work around for this?

I get this error:
Warning: An error occured while writing a file. Error 0x8004e0c8 (message missing). I have no idea! This only comes up if I try to burn to -R media.

I Had the exact same error number

I had purchased a new Buss Link combination +- DVD internal drive. While i find that it works with other programs with either + or - dvd disc's I found that this error in DV ARchitect ocurrs only with - disc's. As soon as I switched to plus disk's the error went away.

I am concerned in that I prefer to switch to all -minus DVD's.

Vegas tells me to check with Buss link as Architect 1 does not list Bus link DVD Drive as being compatible.

DVD Architect version II does not specify drives so they should all work. I have version 2 on order.

If it will not work in that version i will pursue it with Sony where I have purchased support.

Good Luck Let me know if you figure something else out.
