AMD 23.12.1 is out. I ran the same test with it.

CPU: 79%

GPU: 29%

Avg FPS: 58

Newbie😁

Vegas Pro 22 (VP18-21 also installed)

Win 11 Pro always updated

AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16 cores / 32 threads

32GB DDR4 3200

Sapphire RX6700XT 12GB Driver: 25.3.2

Gigabyte X570 Elite Motherboard

Panasonic G9, G7, FZ300

I just did some quick tests. I rendered a UHD 23.97 clip with no effects, with Magix AVC/ACC MP4>Internet UHD 2160P 23.976fps (AMD VCE). MediaInfo of the clip is at the bottom screen shot. I am back on 23.11.1 for testing purposes, though 22.5.1 works with Vegas and NBFX TP7 and Ignite Pro 5, while the other's don't. Ignite I can use in Vegas Effects, but TP7 is sorely missed. Neither the plugin or standalone fully load.

I tried to "PrtSc" at about 90-92% complete render to see hardware usage at that point.

Driver CPU GPU AVG FPS

21.8.2 73% 28% 39

22.5.1 76% 29% 57

23.11.1 77% 29% 56

PRO 23.Q3 74% 28% 40

Then if one reads well... your last tests contradict this thread title; Driver 21.8.2 is not the fastest (with only 39 FPS) versus the latest Driver 23.12.1 with 58 FPS.
I'd suggest a title change, then. This thread should go on for years!
Thanks

There is a misunderstanding. He is not the author of this post, and for me, they are still the fastest in raw performance.

Furthermore, as mentioned in the title, it's an exploration around AMD drivers.

The title is intentionally catchy, but it's also there to pique curiosity. In any case, I find it to be an interesting topic. After all, if it really bothers you, I won't object if the moderation decides to change the title, I won't make a big deal out of it !!!!

I doubt there is a single answer for all AMD GPUs and all projects but with data we can better understand the current situation.

Feel free to use the benchmarks in my signature with different drivers as well- they have easy to decode media but challenging Fx.
