An Interesting Dilemma...

I recently upgraded to VV4, and brought a VV3 project I was working on along for the ride. Now after rendering and dumping to DV tape, my formerly pristine footage breaks up into "Blocky" chunks...I have applied the interlace switch and attempted resampling, but no change.
I can no longer open this project in VV3, as I stupidly changed it to the VV4 format without backing up first.

Any way to: A) remove the "blocks "?
B) make a VV4 file backward-compatible to VV3 ?

Please tell me I don't have to start this 2 month project all over again...

Thank You.

render to avi using a lossless mjpeg codec like pegasus?

Do you see the problem in the rendered file or does this only happen during the print to tape process?

I only see it once the footage has been printed to tape...looks good on the PC screen.

By chance, in your project that you brought into Vegas 4, did the
project start with the SMPTE color bars, & the 1khz test tone?

The reason I ask is, for some reason, when I re-capture projects
that were done in VV3, into Vegas 4 that has the color bars & test
tone at the beginning, I get blocky video with audio that drags.

I never tried to find out why, but realized when I start the capture
after the test tone & color bars, everything is O.K.

Hope this helps
