I created an introduction that i want to put at the begining of every project. Can't figure out how to insert it in projects that i already saved, am i screwed?
Probably the simplest thing to do is to render the introduction as a new video file. You can then insert this into any other project the same way you'd insert any other piece of video.
I've heard people say a few times that events don't copy and paste well between VMS projects that are open in two different app windows, but I want to go on record and say that I do this all the time with no issue. (using VMS 6.0) I have a "template" project where I store my most often used text & other effects, and I often copy & paste the parallel a/v events from that project into another that I have open at the time. I never have a problem with this.
So I believe that is also an option for you, especially if you desire to customize the intro when adding it to a new project.
Or just Open up that intro, let's call the Veg. file " Intro Template", and then put all of the other video down the timeline and then Save As "Name of My Current Project ". Next time open up "Intro Template" and do the same.
Yes that would work for the use case of starting off a new project each time with a custom intro.
In my case, I am often inserting custom title/other effects that I've created into a project at multiple points along the timeline. In that use case, copying & pasting from my "common templates" project works well. (Or if I only want to apply the attributes from a custom effect in my template to a new piece of video in the target project, I do a "Paste event attributes".)
