I am capturing analog video from my camera through a Hauppage WinTV card. After editing, I am rendering it to MPEG2 for SVCD. It appears that SVCD will let me record to a resolution of 720x480, but I can't seem to adjust the capture card to anything higher than 360x240. That seems like a waste of good resolution.
Is the 360x240 a limitation of my card? Of all analog cards? Of my Hi-8 tape (which I doubt)? Or is it possible I am just missing an adjustment somewhere that will clear the fog?
If it's my card, what can other cards do?
