Analog capture trouble.

1st) I have a pinnacle DC10plus analog capture card installed in my PC. When I initiate the video capture Vegas tells me the following:

The device 'Pinnacle DCxx MJPEG Capture Filter' could not be opened

I know that I don't have any other programs using it so I don't understand why Vegas can't use this card??? Anyone else have this problem?

2nd) Since I could not capture the analog video using Vegas 4.0 I used the program that came with it. It had no problems capturing the video and allowing me to edit it on their own program. So what I tried to do was use the captured video that was saved to my hard drive in the avi format. The problem I ran into there is when I dragged the video into Vegas it only shows the audio and no video! I know the avi has video since I played it back with a third party player. Why doesn't Vegas see the video with the audio??

After I install this codec I can play back movies captured with the capture program that came with my card (still the same error message as in my first post for vegas's video capture):

Does anyone know if Sofo includes this codec on the CD version of Vegas 4.0?

Sorry, I shouldn't of said playback the avi's. I can edit the video in Vegas 4.0 where as if I uninstall this Morgan codec I cannot see the video when I am trying to edit it in Vegas.

the Pinnacle DC10plus card uses proprietary software/drivers for capture and output. IN the past, when the card used VFW drivers, some software could access it, such as Premiere 4.1, Vegas etc. Now Studio uses directshow drivers, a new standard of Microsoft. A lot of the software cannot access directshow, so you need a third party codec like the Morgan codec. But this still does not allow you to access the output/input of the card. Only to see the files created.

You would need to use Studio software for capture and output.
