Analog Capture w/ Vegas Movie Studio + DVD?

Hi all. Newbie here. After putzing with Studio 8, & making coasters with Studio 9, I'm considering Vegas Movie Studio + DVD to transfer Hi 8 home movies. I would like to know if this program works with the Pinnacle DC 10 Plus capture card, or, if not what are my options? Any help is appreciated.

I think that the Pinnacle HW only works with Pinnacle SW. (I could be wrong.)
However, if that is the case, and you already have Studio 9, you could still capture using S9 and edit using MS+DVD. Believe me, MS is a pure joy after wrestling with Studio.

(In my experiences, Studio 8 usually captured ok; it was the editing and burning of projects that was excruciatingly error prone.)

Wait... There is hope...

I have the DC10plus capture card and have no problem capturing from either Movie Studio 3 or VirtualDub (freeware). The only thing I can't do with the DC10plus is output to tape, as that part is proprietary to Pinnacle and the Studio products.

My OS is Windows 98SE. The only thing I use my Studio 8 CD for is if I have to reinstall the driver for the DC10plus capture card.

Thanks for the responses, I figured I could capture with S8, but was wondering if when opening the file with MS, would I be able to get auto scene detection. Anyway I think I'll pick up the program and give it a whirl.

You can not get the same type auto scene detection with analog video and MS3 or Virtualdub like you can with Studio 8. Actually, I forgot about that feature. Also, the other thing you won't be able to do is adjust settings on the fly while you are capturing (e.g. Brightness, Contrast, etc.). You can pre set them and then start your capture.

As a very huge plus, I have never had an out of sync problems with VirtualDub or MS3 that users of Studio have experienced. Other plusses are the stability of MS3, the great positive forums here, users who have a wealth of knowledge that are so readily willing to share and... well I could go on and on, but you get the picture.
