Animating text and titles

I was just checking out a great tutoria on animating titles and text at:
http://www.martyhedler.com/homepage/Vegas_Tutorials.html.

It showed how to drag a transition to the beginning or end of a title event to animate it...it gives a great effect!

Two questions:
1. Is there any way to lengthen the duration of the transition effect once it's placed into the title event (I'm not fading in from or out to black...the transition effect is simply inserted into the title)?
2. I can't find documentation of this technique anywhere in the VMS user manuals, online help, etc. What other great things are hidden in this program?

Easy, just move your mouse to the inside top edge of the transition. The cursor should change into a "piece of pie" shaped thing (I don't know how else to describe it). Click and drag the transition to change the length.

For more info, just hit F1 and search for "Transitions, Adjusting Speed/Duration"

Hit F1 again and do a search for Animating Video Fx and Animate Text or Backdrops.

Good Luck.

Eric,
there are LOTS of techniques to fancying up titles in Vegas Movie Studio. After creating the fade as discdude mentions, you can drop a transition on to that, and the title will fly, roll, curl, whatever else you'd like to do with it. You can also create some fun masks with text and fill the text with video. There are lots of great projects for Vegas Movie Studio that can be found

These are the tutorial files from my new book on Vegas Vegas Movie Studio, which has a lot of tips/tricks in it for making Vegas Movie Studio work very similar to the professional version of Vegas.
