annoying burning problem

someone tell me if im doing something wrong....

ok...i finished my video..i renderd it as MPEG2..i used the DVDA template 24p and it rendered fine...i rendered the audio as .AC3 Stereo and its fine..and i finished my menu and i went to Optimized DVD to check and see if everything was ok...and everything was all green check marks...audio and video and the menu...and theres no submenus..its just the original movie..and an extra movie..so you could pick between the two.

i prepared the dvd and burned it separetly and i then burned it onto a DVD CD and i go to play it in my dvd player...and it doesnt work...theres just a clicking sound.

Whats the problem? i did everything like was supposed to..my bit-rate is set to automatic 8000 and the files dont need compressing or anything. I dont know if its my burner or cd...most likely my burner..but i wanted to check with someone here who knows DVDA2 well....did i do anything wrong?

thanks

1. Can you see it on PC without mistakes?
2. What the type of recorded media - DVD-R or DVD+R?
3 Can your player understand recodrable, or DVD-R, or DVD+R?
4 What about recording speed?
5 Try burn with last version of Nero, it can change bitsetting of recordered DVD-R/+R to DVD-ROM for better compatibility with standalone DVD-player.

1. its perfect..no glitches or anything

2. i used a DVD-RW disc

3. it should understand the discs..because my friend made a photoslideshow on a regular CD and the dvd player played the slideshow along with music...and i tried several players..my computer player...it says it doesnt detect the disk...my reg player..it makes clicking sounds...my ps2..clicking sounds...my friends dvd player...clicking sounds.....AAHHH

4. my recording speed is at 1X

5. is there a demo of Nero that i can use to burn?......i used the standard bit rate for DVDs...8000

i think either..its my cds....or just maybe im missing a certain step before the burning process thats like the key step to making it work to dvd players...i have nooo idea. Im a noob at DVDA2....so i have noo idea wat steps to take after i finish my menu..

2. i used a DVD-RW disc !!!
Really DVD-RW, not DVD+RW?
If really DVD-RW - it's a problem. This is a new disk format. Most standalone players can't play it yet.
P.S.
What is a model of your DVD-burner?
What is your e-mail?

Hm? I've been using DVD-RWs in my standalone player for about two years now.

For example from the list of system devices, Nero info tool & others

I'm having a similar problem but it's only my home player that can't read the DVD. Mine is DVD-R media. The player makes a nasty rapidfire clicking sound. Two computers are fine though and I gave the disks to a friend who says 4 out of 5 work at her office.

My DVDA no longer recognizes my burner. It used to but since I rebuilt the system I've had no joy. So I'm burning a 6th DVD with "CDBurner XP Pro 3". This is what I used on the previous 5 disks.

I just un-set some automatic settings. The first disks were burned at 1X. The current disk is burning at 2.4X, with "DVD High Compatibility (Write at least 1 GB)" turned on.

The disk was only going to be about 250 MB so now I'm wondering if part of the playability problem lies there. The rapid-fire clicking sure sounded something like heads seeking...

Food for thought, anyway.
