Another Bug? (File Management)

In Vegas Video, there are a couple issues with file
management I'm wondering about.

First, when saving a copy of a project into a new folder
with the "Copy all media with project" *ALL* the wave files
are moved over, not just the ones used in the project. In
the original Vegas, it used to clean things up and only
move over files that are used as events in the project.

Second, on a related note, after recording a track and
later decide I dont like it, the entire track is deleted
(not just the event) and the project is saved. Since
the "Copy all media" wasnt working, I'd go delete that wave
file since its no longer in the project. Next time the
project is opened, it asks me to locate the "missing" wave
file, *every time* even though it was saved with the track
deleted.

Anyone else running into this?

Are you certain that you have swept the media pool? You can have
files that are not in the track view anymore but are still in the
media pool. It is possible that if you were to sweep the media pool
and resave your Vegas Project that you would not see this behavior
any longer.

Hi Matt -
the problem you're running into is the addition of the Media Pool in
2.0. You have to clean the Media Pool otherwise the media stays a
part of the project regardless of its existence in the track view.
There is an icon that looks like broom that will do this. There's one
for the trimmer as well.

this second one is a big pain...To add insult to injury, once you
delete a track from the mixer, there is NO way to be sure you have it
back lined up correctly, if you were to decide to put it back in and
changed your mind about deleteing it....(barring an instant undo of
course, I mean like after its been saved and such)

It would be neat to have a way of time stamping the wave files, so
you knew where they were supposed to be

Ah ha, Thanks.
