Another church video

This is for a new members class. There are a couple of slight audio glitches that are there only because I am using V12. V12 seems to boost the audio level a little over 6db when I add certain third party audio DSP effects to a track. The glitches are only on the render. The audio previews perfectly. I have tried dozens of ways around this but it is almost six AM and I have two full weekend workdays ahead of me. It plays Sunday so it will have to be as it is. Anyway, the video is here:

Very nice quality Laurence. Not sure if it's a 'Vimeo' thing, but the lip sync looks out a tad.

Very well done.

A couple comments though

In your graphic is PLANS misspelled. The first one says PANS.

You tend to shoot a bit tighter on faces than I like, cropping their heads. Not a big deal and some people like that. I just like it a bit looser.

Thanks for sharing. It is good to see other approaches to very similar topics.

I see horrendous lip sync problems when I view it on my iPad, but on my computer it looks right, I have noticed audio sync problems on Vimeo ever since I updated to IOS 6.

Laurence, I think that this is extremely well done. I will use it for a model for some of the videos I do for my daughter's school.

I like the framing of your shots, the lighting, and the editing is clean and well-paced. Just great all around.

My only critical comment is about the music. I found the people to be very (appropriately) seriouis and to say substantive things. While I don't think you want music with a somber mood, my own opinion is that the happy mood of the light piano (or maybe its the drum?) doesn't quite match the tone of what the subjects are saying to me. I started noticing this at 0:45. This isn't something that totally fails the video in any way. Just a marginal comment on something I noticed. The uplifting mood of the music is something I think you do want, but perhaps the happier mood kicking in late in the video rather than from the beginning and lasting throughout.

Thanks for yor comments on the music. I've just recently switched from using library music to recording my own. One advantage of this is that that way I can base the music on hymns which are public domain and suit the subject better. I was going for an upbeat and optimistic mood and could well have overdone it. The drums are a brushes drum loop cut together in continuously changing ways so as to accent the music and not be so redundant. I haven't been doing drums this way for very long and I'm sure I need more practice at it. The music is a sensitive part on this for me since it is my recording, but don't let that stop you from critiquing it. I am striving for excellence and good honest critiques such as yours are invaluable to me.

OK, a couple of last minute changes (this plays tomorrow morning). Beginning graphic now has an animated light flare (courtesy of BCC8) and the Bible verse spelling is correct (thanks Dave). There are lower thirds names as each character is introduced. Lower thirds were done with the excellent ProDad Heroglyph 4 software. One interview had quite a bit of video noise. This was cleaned up a lot with Neat Video. Slightly cropped in for a bit tighter framing on the last two interview bits. V12 worked pretty solidly through most of this. I think it crashed twice over the past several days. Way better than the crash every few minutes I was getting with V11. Thanks everyone for your suggestions and help.

I see sync issues on my ipad as well. Good to know others have the same issue, could not use it to check uploaded stuff, but I always watch on the PC that uploadet it.
