I am using Neo Scene to convert mp4 to AVI. Running Vegas Pro 9 32-bit on Vista. The playback issues with Cineform have already be reported. My camera shoots in several different resolution framerate combinations. I was experimenting to compare the performance of the raw mp4 files to Cineform AVI files (in Vegas 8.0c the Cineform files always outperform the mp4 files).

I managed to get Vegas Pro 9 into a state that just selecting one of the Cineform AVI files in the project explorer would cause Vegas Pro 9 to unceremoniously quit. There was no error dialog as in Vegas 8.0c - it just went away. A reboot at least got me back to the point that I could open the files -- of course that did not help the performance.
