Another Error Message-Please help! Won't load .mov files!

Videomonster wrote on 4/10/2003, 11:26 PM
With VV3 I got Videometry-Livestock film cd with video clips on it. I copied the clips to my hard drive and they play fine with Quicktime...

Today I clicked on the import button on VV3, and chose a .mov file called baycenter.mov, from the livestock film clips on my hard drive. I clicked open, and and error message popped up that said:

__________________________________________________________
Warning: An Error occured while opening one or more files
The file is an unsupported format.

File C:\\videoclips\videometry\baycenter.mov
__________________________________________________________

Why wont it open? I know it can open .mov files, but it wont open for some reason.

Please Help!

Try downloading Quicktime latest version again. I had the same problem for a while, now it is cleared up.

When you download and install Quicktime, make sure you select to also install the Quicktime "authoring" tools. You don't need to pay for the Quicktime pro either. It will just be a selection you can make during the free install.

Try to open the clips in Quicktime. After they are open in Quicktime... Try to open the same clip in VEGAS. This would definitely activate the QuickTime codec as it is active in Quictime. VEGAS should then be able to read the file. If not you may need to Uninstall and Re-install VEGAS because it seems that it is not loading the Quicktime codec. (This workked for me - advise from SOFO support)
