I received this reply from wacom regarding a possible solution to their driver causing vegas to crash. I have NOT yet tried it. Yes, it is basically the usual suggestion for conflicts.

Regarding the information you provided, we would suggest you to follow the steps below for troubleshooting.

1. Reset the tablet’s driver.

Click on Start > click on All programs > search open the Wacom Tablet folder > select Wacom Tablet Preference File Utility > click on Remove under All User Preferences.

2. Reset the Sony Vegas Pro 11

Press and hold Shift+Ctrl keys then open Sony Vegas Pro 11

If the problem remains, go to the next step. If it is fixed, do not proceed with the rest of the troubleshooting steps.

3. Uninstall your current driver.

Disconnect the tablet from the PC

Click on Start > click on Control panel > select Programs and Features > click to highlight Wacom Tablet > click on Uninstall

4. Uninstall Sony Vegas Pro 11

Click on Start > click on Control panel > select Programs and Features > click to highlight Sony Vegas Pro 11 > click on Uninstall

Reboot the PC after you have uninstalled Sony Vegas Pro 11.

5. Re-install Sony Vegas Pro 11 on your PC

6. Download and install the latest driver for your tablet, please follow the URL link below.

b) Select your Operating System: Windows 7
c) Click Download on the far right of the most updated driver: (Driver 6.2.0w5 for USB Tablets on Windows 7, Vista or XP (32 & 64 bit))

Notes for installing tablet drivers:

• Temporarily disable your Anti-virus and Windows firewall before running the driver installer.
• Temporarily disconnect Network connections and other USB devices connected to the PC.
• Connect the tablet to a powered USB port, preferably directly to the motherboard.
• Make sure that you are logged in as a Computer Administrator.
• Try connecting the tablet to a different USB port or different PC if necessary.
• Clean the PC's RAM to free disk space and make processing faster.
• Download and install latest updates for your Operating System.

7. Make sure that the driver is set to Pen Mode.

Click Start > click All Programs > look for and open Wacom Tablet folder > click Wacom Tablet Properties > on Tools, select Grip Pen > click on Mapping tab > select Pen Mode.

which video card do you use?

from what i've read it seems the wacom problem is exacerbated by using ati catalyst drivers....

using win 7/64 with nividia don't have any problems...
