No problems here. I'm running Windows ME, Dell Dimension 4100 866 Mhz, 512 MB ram, nVidia 32 MB video card, 70 GB hard drive (two drives), and have multiple video editing applications on the same hard drive (VF2.0c, Ulead Video Studio 5&6, Video Wave 5).

Yup - I was also concerened about updating such a crucial piece of SW. However, I did it and have a Dell 1ghz Inspiron; Ix 32gb hd; 1 x external firewire drive; WinME; along with VF I also have VideoWave 5 and Pinnacle Studio 7. Plus some nifty audio software and now a majorally powerful presentation package. I've had Direct 8.1 installed for , I think, 2-3 months. I can't see any problems - then again I don't know the advantages it has given me.

Over to you "periodic"

Yeah... it's a bit nail biting when we do stuff that could have such rotten consequencies.

Keep us informed ads to how it goes.

I upgraded months ago. The only thing that happened for me is that a program i had been unsuccessfully trying to run before now runs fine. No problems at all.
