I was doing the update to Vegas 5.0b and the updater requested the original disk with "vegas5.msi" on it - or a pointer to an alternate location so some feature or other could be installed. The disk being 6 miles away from the computer, I decided that the file already in the Sony directory should be good enough. The installer wasn't reported that the file was not valid but said that the update installed "successfully." Does anybody know to what degree I may be in trouble here? ;-)
