Centrino is a merketing term for a mobile processor, some other bits and a specific wirless LAN acess

There are notebooks with mobile pentium processors that are not Centrino as they may not have wireless LAN capability or they have a higher spec wireless LAN.

That said no I don't have any personal experience although I work in the industry so to speak.

The thing to remeber with the new mobile processors is that the clock speed is no longer a comparison between a desktop pentium processor.

If you do a search on the web you should get some good performance comparisons.

I don't have any Vegas experience with them, but at my parttime job they use a Gateway laptop with one of those centrino's for Sound Forge editing. They like it.
