I am. Getting the "server to busy" error message. I thought the moving to the server on the west coast would of taken care of it. Oh well. :)

Yep, down here in Florida the service seems to be getting worse and worse since SF bowed out. Hope this isn't indicative of things to come!!!

Looks like they're making a lotta room for "Screenblast"

Maybe they're installing Forumblast! :)

Is the support team for Screenblaster different from that of Vegas?

SInce Sony has taken over I just take that these forums being down is part of the SOP. I don't recall the forums going down, for any reason, as much as they have since August. When I got up this morning and saw the forums were still down I went to the Sony site to see if there was any indication there. Has anyone else done this? They list almost everything sony pictures related - but software related all you get is the Screenblast stuff. If you didn't already know about the SoFo items you wouldn't find them that way.

Well in any case the forums are back up again. Now we can get back to being one big happy disfunctional family. :)

Thanks for bringing the problem to our attention. We have a number of people looking into it.

I've observed the following problems for well over a year and they haven't improved with any changes made because or or since Sony took over. While things are faster for awhile they always slip back to excessively slow like they are again today.

For a point of reference I'm on a fast broadband connection, averaging 1,700 megabits a second and iin spite of that the Sony Media forums are frequently very sluggish, slow to repond, and routinely result in weird server errors being reported with the site being dead for hours at a time week after week. In short not very professional or acceptable for a company the size of Sony.

Frequently (like right now) there are long unexplained delays in the iinitial forum page or any of thefolowing particular forum pages loading. How long? Anywhere from 20 seconds to a couple minutes or longer. For someone on fast broadband where most web pages load in a few seconds that's telling when the forum pages take anywhere from 10 to a 50 times or longer to load. Something is wrong with how your web pages are being served up. I suspect much of the problem has to do with the excessive scripting on the forum pages.

The long term solution would be to switch to canned forum software which by the way has many more user friendly features instead of the homebrew version now being used. While it may look "cute" and serve some corporate marketing purpose to have drop down menu choices at the top of the page to take you to the products section, support and all the rest having it all tied together surely frustrates the crap out of users sitting in front of their monitor waiting and wating and wating some more for a forum post to show up with nothing to see but a status bar that doesn't move or finally getting a page not found error or some cryptic error message that again shows something is wrong with the web server.
