I am not surprised at your finding...I can't remember the exact setting that I tried in the past - but my conclusion at the time was to leave it alone. Are you familiar with some audio blind hearing testing done to evaluate hearing differences of sound source encoding? I seem to recall a finding that a blind test could not establish a difference.

I would think it would only be a problem if your total bitrate is exceeding the optimum for a burnt DVD

But I also think that is way overkill for your audio track. 256is plenty for good quality in Stereo.

just my opinion of course.

Yep, i agree. I think anything over 224 meets rapidly diminishing returns. Anything over 256 is probably completely indistinguishable.

I knew it wouldn't take much convincing. I'll lower the bitrate.
