I'd doubt it. To record from a HDMI input the device would need some form of encoder. Encoders use a lot of power and are generally expensive pieces of hardware.

There's no mention of HDMI or even HD on the website. The only connector it has is USB 2.0.

When they say it transfers video they are presumably referring to the low-grade web video formats that digital cameras usually record.

The Cinedeck Exteme is certainly more that $3K.
Still when you looks at what it provides compared to buying a recorder and a good monitor with the same functions it's kind of a bit of a bargain and it's all in the one box.

I read an article mentioning that the technology was available but it didn’t mention any brand names,this must be what they were referring to.

Nevertheless OUCH … way too expensive for me ..hopefully some other brand and less expensive ones will come on the market
