We are building a new church with a recording studio and we
are getting Vegas and I'm building a computer to do the
recording on. I'm on a tight budget but don't want to cut
any corners and have heard great things about the Promise
IDE RAID controller. You can put two drives together and
the computer sees it as one big one and uses a method
called striping that allows SCSI speeds and SCSI cpu
utilization. NOW for those who use Vegas with normal IDE
UDMA drives you might also tell me that knowing we'll
probably never use over 30 tracks is IDE's alone enough?
Personally with the new UDMA66 drives out now I don't see
how they could be that much slower than SCSI and certain
brands use very little CPU cycles BUT I want to use what's
best but also what's practical.
Thanks in advance.
