I've done a couple of small projects and a bunch of test footage from the CF recorded by my Z7. I had problems with a Kingston memory CF card, but this Transcend I'm using now seems to work quite well.

I have 4 of the transcend 32GB. I would like to hear how things work for you when you do an average job with clips of varying size and about 100 files. Or anyone. I must say when it comes to Vegas and HDV (cineform and native) over the past 3 years I have often felt like I am on a deserted island......

I've just used it on a couple of interviews so far and ended up with a handful of pretty large clips. You're scaring me. I've had good luck so far but I haven't really pushed it.

Do you have trouble just with clips from the Z7 or do you have the same problem with clips from the tape as well?

Bruce, I have both. Most of our training DVDs are shot with the DR60, imported via the Vegas import tool. No probs (thus far) with the Z7 and CF unit. I'm using the Lexar Pro discs, but only the 16GB units. Nothing larger than 16GB is certified for the CF systems, although I'v heard from a few folks they're getting away with the larger cards.

When I first got my Transcend 32GB CF card, I had some problems with it. Formatting it with the card reader unit didn't seem to help but it's been fine since I did a full format on it from my computer (which took quite an hour or so vs the quick few second format from the card reader).

Bruce,

I have used the DR60 on one of my Z1s for every event we have shot since the fall. While I have also recorded to tape at the same time, If our event runs over an hour, we don't change the tape but just let the DR60 run while changing tape on our second Z1.

Have never had a problem. We ignore the tape and use the DR60 on that camera.

I'm using the DR-60 with the V1U. The 60's form factor, functionality, and integration with the V1U are far superior to our Firestore FS-4, but it's file management is a pain...

It creates one file for the first 1/2 sec. of each shot, with the rest of the shot in a separate file (Vegas' import tool stitches the files back together).

It creates a separate folder for each shot; Vegas also creates separate folders for each shot when using its import tool.

Vegas imports ALL files from the DR-60 -- you cannot selectively import. So if you shoot 10 shots, then 10 more without erasing the DR-60, Vegas will import all 20 shots. I don't erase the DR-60 until my local files are backed up (nightly), so this is an issue.
