Hello,
Here is my workaround:
Source File:
AVI DV PAL
720x576, Lower Field First, 25fps.
Shot with a Sony miniDV PAL camcorder.
1) I open the source file with Vegas 4.0 and then I export it as AVI with the template PAL DV. Then I uncheck "Create an OpenDML (Avi version 2) compatible file" so that Combustion can read it. No problem at this step. Vegas 4.0 uses its own DV codec which is better than Microsoft DV Codec and comparable to MATROX or MAINCONCEPT.
Here is the info about Sonic Foundry codec:
Audio/Video Interleaved file format plug-in
Version 1.2 (Build 875)
2) I import that AVI video file into Combustion and then I go to "Footage controls" and I set FIELD ORDER to Lower field. I do all the effects and then I would like to render that video plus the effects so that I can import it to Vegas and go on editing.
3) I go to FILE->RENDER
I set format to Video for Windows (AVI) then I hit Options and I can see these codecs:
- Cinepak Codec by Radius
- Intel Indeo video 4.5
- Microsoft Video 1
- Intel video 5.10
- Some Matrox DV/DVCPRO/M-JPEG... codecs
- uncompressed.
(There isn't such Sonic foundry DV Codec ?¿ , why ? I do have the codec, I use it all the time when I work with Vegas)
So what do I have to do now ? Render it as AVI uncompressed and then open it in Vegas ? I have done it and I works well, but the files are huge.
Please any help will be highly appreciated. I really would like to render with Sonic Foundry Codec but I cannot figure out how to do it.
Thanks,
Robert.
