APOLOGY TO CINEFORM

Hi everyone, I want to apologize for being harsh with Cineform in my previous thread. They DO make excellent products. I also should not have included the rant about Vegas taking so long to open; that was neither Cineform's fault, nor Sony's, and was irrelevant to this issue.

However, I would like to say a few things to the Cineform representative that replied to my previous thread:

1: It is never good protocol to insult your customers. This is like the woman I personally know who was yelled at by the chef when she said the meat was sour. She never went back, and I wouldn't either.

Instead of accusing me of flaming your product, a more appropriate response would have been:

"Dear Copperplate:

We apologize for the incoveniences you are experiencing. However, we are unaware of this issue being directly related to any Cineform products you may have had installed on your system. If the problem persists after a purchase of the product, we assure you we will make every effort to resolve the matter."

2: In regards to the 3-day trial:
A fully functioning trial leaves room for dishonest people to take advantage of Cineform. Anyone who was intent on stealing would be able to convert their files in a few hours, much less 3 days!! In my opinion, a better solution would be to (a) offer a watermarked trial that lasts indefininitely, (b) offer a watermarked trial for 15 or 30 days, or (c) offer a non-watermarked trial that has a limit on how many minutes of footage you can capture and convert.

I am truly sorry for offending anyone, including Cineform, as I did not respond to this issue in a very reserved or polite manner.

~Copperplate

I read through everything he wrote & didn't see any insults. I saw people being a jerk to him though.

reminds me of this cartoon.

EDIT: if you really wanted to apologize (which you don't, you want someone to try to help you so you're pretending you're sorry. My kids do it all the time), you'd call them up & ask to talk to the guy. Not post on a forum that isn't theirs & they you don't know if they'll ever come back because of your attitude.

I did send the apology to Cineform, but it also needed to be posted here, since many people read my previous thread.

Thank you for your remarks.

copperplate has done nothing to warrant an apology, but he chose to do so anyway, in a public forum... good form...

I also thought David was a bit defensive... although I understand his POV...

Implying that copperplate is feigning an apology & is behaving like a child... bad form...

I'm curious, why did you even bother?

& feel free to make any assumptions about me also, although I'm not as nice as copperplate...
