Being ignorant in working with both HDV and FCP, can you convert back to FCP?
Thinking in terms of taking work in FCP , doing it in Vegas, and handing it back in FCP.

Not in ProRes, no. Which is a drawback. You can using Cineform though, however for me, the one way into Vegas is great because I do all my finishing work there, but do some rough jobs in FCP and compositing in Motion. On the capture side, it's nice to have a format I can capture to that reads very easily on both platforms.

So this is just a decoder - no encoder? That would be sweet to be able to render to Prores for a return trip.
