In which the computer company with the pushiest and most aggressive advertising campaign bemoans the fact that other computer companies are so pushy and aggressive with their advertising.
Especially around Xmas.
I would advise against an Apple refurb. Our last Mac was an Apple refurb and after the extended warranty would have run out (didn't buy it) it started having serious problems (5 crashes/lockups a day due to a bad motherboard, that's still $700 to replace, even as outdated as a dual 1.2GHz G4 is).
Others may have had better experiences, but we'll never buy another Apple refurb, and I'm questioning the wisdom of getting another Mac since I've had less than $200 in repairs (one new motherboard) to 4 PCs in the past 5 years, and none crash, ever.
