I found through 12inchdesign.com they have a "Live Type Central" but it's for FCP only. Besides Graffitti (which I've tried and find too much trouble to use- with the lack of tutorials) what else is there like the LiveType Central.??? I like their jiggle letters in particular. And I like how it's afordable but unfortunatly not for Vegas users.?

There is Caymen Graphics, Bluff, Deko, and many other 3rd party titling apps. For the most part, you can create many of these effects in Vegas, the question is whether you want to spend the time or not.

I haven't gotten into it that far yet but the manual that ships with Graffitti Ltd does have a few tutorials. I'll admit it does seem a tad complex to use but once you get beyond the basic stuff that's in Vegas you have to control more parameters which means more complexity no matter which program you use.

Also Particle Illusion has some neat text effects and I think you can still get the free version that came with Digit.

aussiemick,

I'm in Melbourne and managed to get it... whats your excuse! :)

You might still be able to order the issue or something... it was earlier in the year so its not on the shelves any more.

Livetype is relly cool. My church uses FCP. If you look closely, you will notice that livetype effects look like they are flash. Now if we could only get some developers to stop with the fly in text and get them to animate the characters instead.
