arm for record

Okay, this is my first go at recording in Vegas 11pro from a tape deck...I insert an audio track, but the arm for record button is not lit to select it...what am i missing? My other computer with VP10 is connected exactly the same way, and the arm button is lit and works fine...is this yet another VP11 feature not working, or have I missed a set up check mark or something that is keeping me from being able to record?

Sounds like Vegas doesn't know you have an audio input device on that computer. Check out your audio settings and make sure they're mapped to your sound card.

Of course recording works in V11 !

Um, you are clicking the Arm button presumably ? It doesn't arm automatically with track insertion.

Does your audio interface show, and have you selected the desired input channel(s) ? Sounds like maybe there is no valid Default input channel.

Thank you for reminding me to check out the hardware connections...evidently I have a couple of bad jacks on my sound card...have moved the connections to the front panel jacks and all is once again good. Sometimes the obvious is far removed from comprehension!
