ARM64 version

Just installed Pro 22 for Windows 11 ARM64. I'm running it on a Surface Pro w/Snapdragon Elite w/NPU. When I checked the processor identifier in the Help menu, it identified the processor as "Authentic AMD," not Snapdragon X 12-core X1E80100 @ 3.40 GHz? Is this a problem?

This is likely not an issue. As this is just early access for this version of VEGAS, we are still working on several things before it is ready for a full release.

Mark,

I'm considerig a Snapdragon ARM laptop, but worried that I have to download ARM versions of every app and some apps may not be available in an ARM version, for example VP. What is your experience?

Rich,

I haven't had time to fully test all my software on my ARM laptop. So far, my experiences have been very positive. Not one crash so far. As far as I can tell, when there isn't an ARM version of the software, the x86 version is run in an emulator. This does result in a hit on performance, but nothing I'd say has been a major problem.

I was particularly interested in Topaz Software's Gigapixel AI... unfortunately, after buying the software I found out that it requires 32MB to run the native AI functions. Their solution is have you use their Cloud based services - which requires tokens (that cost $). Otherwise Gigapixel AI is a great program. I haven't had a lot of time to check out Vegas on my ARM laptop, so I'll have to defer an opinion until I have a project that will help me test this.

My ARM system is a Microsoft Surface 7 with Elite (12 core), 16MB and 512MB storage. So far, I've been VERY impressed with the hardware, construction, reliability. and overall performance - especially the battery life.

Mark, thank you for your reply. I'm concerned with the hassle of maintaining my Intel i9 desktop and ARM laptop with different versions. I assume I can install all Intel apps and the only hit is performance. Is there a notificaiton that tells you the emulator in being used?
