ASF format

I've been looking and playing around with some microsoft stuff...."wmpcdcs8.exe". managed to get windows media "ISO MPEG-4 v1.1 DirectShow Codec".... installed onto my system and "wmtools.exe" managed to get ASF stuff on. Noteably it enables Premiere to render ASF.

When last looking ASF was something that NT did well, so perhaps is in the media9 stuff too.

But I do not have IIS installed on my XP OS and do not want to install NT , so my question is this ........
Given that when you render in VV as AVI that you can go and select a codec like DixX for example, is it not possible to get these ASF and ISO MPEG-4 v1.1 DirectShow" libs to show up too, somehow ?

actually I seem to be able to see mpeg4ISO in the real9 template drop down box.
So I'm wondering about ASF.

Suppose it is possible to get a converter and do BAT scripts afterwards sat with vid2ASF.exe

Any suggestions or knowledge of getting ASF to list inside VV ?

ASF is no longer supported by Microsoft, so that's why you aren't finding that anymore. MPEG 4, some stuff will show up in the Quicktime wrapper in Vegas, and I think the sorenson package shows up as well, I've not workd with it.
