Hi,
I have a problem with Vegas 4 when trying to select asio drivers. The program replace automatically the selected asio by default Microsoft Sound Mapper. It seems there's no way to select other drivers than the default. Why?
Please, describe step by step, exactly what you are doing and what happens vs what you expect to happen. The more detail, the more likely I can help out.
I just installed a new Edirol UA1000 which used ASIO drivers. Vegas 3 will not allow me to pick a specific driver. The only option I get is the windows classic drivers. When I go into the advanced tab there are no drivers listed to pick from.
The problem that I am experiencing is that vegas will not allow me to change output channels. Everything wants to playback through channels 7&8 even when I select other playback channels. I also am unable to use different buses because of this. I would be willing to upgrade to a high version of Vegas but am holding out for v5. Is there a fix for this?
Note: I installed Sorar 3 and it works flawlessly, so I know my problem lies in Vegas.
Since Vegas 3 does not support ASIO, this sounds like a routing issue of the hardware/drivers.
I am guess that you are using either ASIO or WDM Kernel Streaming with SONAR, thereby bypassing the Wave emulation.
There have beein problems in the past with Edirols Wave emulation with other hardware/drivers they have released. Edirol has told its users to use either ASIO or WDM Kernel Streaming to resolve these issues.
We are attempting to obtain a UA1000 from Edirol. However, we will not specifically be addressing any Vegas 3.0 issues other than to confirm or provide a work around. We will assure that the UA1000 is a viable solution for the current versions of our products as best we can.
