aspect ratio - 16:9 or 4:3?

I'm just about to start using a new sony dvd camera. the aim is to upload and host videos on my site. i'll be editing in vegas.

does it matter which aspect i record in?

Which aspect ratio do you want? That's all that matters.

go for 16:9
Youtube and many other players take it as a standard and most people have a 16:9 tv.
