aspect ratio on vidio capture

RHagedorn wrote on 4/4/2002, 11:37 AM
I am capturing video from an ATI All-in-wonder 128 from a VHS-C camcorder, with Sonic Foundry's video capture program, in Video Factory 2.0. When I play it back the video is "squished". Is there a setting where I can change the aspect ratio from 320x480 to 480x320, so the results are more normal looking?

Thanks in advance.

Did you resolve this? I am having the opposite problem, where the video is twice as tall as it is wide.

Running XP and all latest patches and device drivers
DirectX 8.1 (4.08.01.0810)
ATI ALL-IN-WONDER Radeon 7500 (using ATI XP installation)
Dual AMD Athlon 1900's
Screen Resolution 1280 x 1024
32 Bit color

Good Luck,

Open your capture window and select video/video properties/ and change the size on the bottom left of the window. I'm also useing the all in wonder card with a VHS-C

Ensure that your capture size matches your project size, otherwise weird things will happen. I've experienced choppy video if my capture size is smaller (352x240) than my project size (720x240). You can create a project by matching the capture size when you are promted for the video size.

hope this helps
