There should be a filmstrip/timeline view of the media at the bottom of the screen (don't quite remember how to navigate there, don't have DVDA handy at the moment). Below that there is a toolbar - there's a small blue button that sets the thumbnail to the current cursor position. So just click on the timeline where you want the thumbnail to be, then click the blue button.

Thanks for the quick reply. That sounds simple enough...even for me!

Thanks again,
Bob

Got it in front of me now. You can also set the thumbnail position by clicking on the link in the menu, and switching to the "Object" tab over on the right. There's a "Thumbnail start time" with a slider, near the top.

It's me again. I tried your first suggestion and I selected the frame I wanted for the thumbnail just fine. But on the preview screen, as I tested the final creation prior to burning, I could not select that particular movie. I would click on tht thumbnail and nothing would happen. The other thumbs worked fine. After fooling around with the 'in/ out' points, I did manage to get the thumbnail to work but only as a chapter point. I could not get the movie to play from the beginning. Any idea on what I have done wrong?

Thanks,
Bob

What are your in/out points set to on the timeline view? (yellow triangles)

OK, I used the second method you mentioned and it worked out just fine. Thanks for your patience and help.
