Assignable FX and Audio Bus Tracks Missing a label

VolumetricMedia wrote on 9/1/2017, 7:07 PM

Hi,

I'm finding using Assignable FX and Audio Bus tracks more confusing in Vegas 15 than 14 - there appear to be missing or inconsistent labeling of the tracks (IE the Track Header displayed information differs from the "Add/Remove Envelope..." displayed information).

Am I missing a setting or are other people finding this too?

Cheers,

Volumetric Paul

I know it's rude to bump my own post but is my post confusing or is no one else seeing this issue?

Can you give us a step-by-step walkthrough to demo the issue, maybe with some screenshots?

Sure thing!

The name of the Output on an Audio Bus going to another Bus in this project is a very old name for the output bus:

When I click the Output on the Bus track it shown only names (and incorrect ones at that).

Ordinary tracks on the other hand only sometimes show Audio Bus names (not sure how to reproduce when it shows Output vs Name). It appears to be showing the output of the Bus in the brackets but these are not correct anyway).

See the bus with the name at the bottom here.

Audio Track Sends show the "system name (ie. track number)" followed by "Trim" output volume.

Insertable FX on Audio Busses also only show the "track number" not the name (which would be helpful).

My questions relating to this matter:

  1. Is this ordinary behaviour or is there something wrong with my project / setup?
    1. If it is only me: Is there a setting I might be unfamiliar with?
  2. (Assuming this is normal behaviour) Do other people find this frustrating?
    1. If yes: Do you have a method to overcome these issues?
  3. I would like to force Vegas Pro 15 to update and display Track Names (including Bus and Assignable FX) in these menus.
    1. If possible: How?
    2. If not possible: Let me know - I will make a feature request to Magix!

Thank you for reading gang.

A video file showing the issues (same as the screenshots above):

Thanks for sharing all that. I never use audio with remotely that degree of complexity. Any serious audio users care to respond?

I would LOVE to have a much neater project - but time constraints, particularities to this project, choices the Sound Designer and Editor made, as well as AAF export/import nightmares have left me with this. I was able to remove over 150 audio tracks after 4 solid weeks of just tidying up the project. At any rate - it works and it sounds good and my work will be done on time - I wish I had time to document every little bug and UI issue I've faced for Magix... I have a feeling I won't want to, or even remember, the issues once I've delivered!
