What version of Vegas Pro? What version of Windows?

Try updating the graphics card driver from either Windows Update, Asus (most likely successful option), or Nvidia.

So Vegas just won't start? There are other tips for troubleshooting startup here. Some might be worth a shot. Or maybe you could try rolling the graphics card driver back to some earlier versions.

Or is it a rendering issue?

You want to consider updating your OS to SP1.

Plus, it would be much advisable to update the so called '.Net Framework' component -- https://www.microsoft.com/net/download/framework
