Dunno about that processor, but there are millions of Athlons out there that work perfectly fine on pretty much all software. You would have seen the headlines if not.

Some *hardware* devices have problems with some Athlon motherboard chipsets though (esp some soundcards).

I have a great rig with twin AMD processors. Quick, stable and I don't have any software or hardware problems. Just make sure you buy the best cpu fan and memory you can afford.
