Attempting subtitles but Movie Studio 17 Platinum changes all the Text

Maybe this topic has been solved already somewhere else but I could not find anything so here goes:

Usually how I´d go about it is creating a single big text layer over my video and split and trim it into the chunks I need.

However, when writing text for subtitles, MV17 changes the text of every text I change later on. While it isn´t impossible to work around this issue (dragging a new textbox into the required layer is an option) it sure is time consuming and somewhat annoying to keep scrolling back into the clip and re-adjusting the timeline for each snippet of a sentence.

Is there a more elegant way of solving this?

Don't split the current one, copy instead. Then it gives you the option of making a new title or reference but it will have the same attributes. You can create your title, hold CTRL down while dragging to make a new copy.

Works great, my workflow is saved. Thanks a bunch!
