Does anyone know of a web site or tutorial on how to use Audacity to remove background noise from audio. I've been playing around with it, but I've accomplised nothing. Any tips or advice on how to use this audio editor would greatly appreciated.
Hi - I also had an issue with background street noise lately and I was not able to do a very good job at getting rid of it with Movie Studio, demo Sound Forge or Audacity. Could very well be that I don't know how to do it and not be the fault of the products. I see that there are quite a few filters available to Movie Studio.
Any idea when we should be using another product like Sound Forge or Audacity instead of Movie Studio for audio editing?
Noise reduction, in any software, only works on a constant, unvarying noise. It's great at removing things like hum or air noise from a ventilation system. It can do almost nothing for randomly modulated noise like street sounds or wind.
