Audio and video don't match

I am knew to all this so bear with me. I rendered a twenty minute video which seemed to come out alright. When I tried to copy it to my dvd camera the voice and video were off by about a second. I had no trouble with a previous video, but I have rendered and tranfered to my camera twice on this one with the same results, although each time the voice and video started out ok, only to not match up at different parts of the rendered video.

Do you mean that the timing between the video and audio drifted further and further apart over time, or are there segments throughout the tape where they are out of sync, then back in sync?

Are you sure the rendered output is in sync? I.e. is the problem in the rendered output, or is it in the "print to tape".

It is fairly easy to mess up the audio/video sync in the rendered output when editing, if you accidently ungroup the audio and video, and say move a video section by 1 second without the audio moving with it.... at least I've found that I've done this before, especially when I was just starting. If you've done this you should be able to see it by looking at the timeline, as long as you zoom in enough. Look closely at the section where you see the video and audio diverge, and see if you can spot them not aligned on the timeline.

If the rendered output really is OK, then it seems like a strange Print to Tape problem.

Corporate sound the audio drifts as you get further into the video. The video is about 20 minutes long. I have since tried changing the settings, but I keep getting told that the file is then too large for my C drive. Thanks for your help.

Mbryant thanks for your response. I am new to this. I will check timeline more closely. I did try rendering a second time, and it seemed like the audio and video started getting out of sync in latter into the video then the first time I rendered it. I am not sure, however if I had made any changes on the timeline before I rendered it the second time. I will try it again tonight>

My latest problem is after I have rendered my movie I end up with two rendered versions. The second version starts where the first one ends. I tried to cleanup the edits where the two versions split, but had the same result. My bigger problem, is that both versions now show audio and video syncronized on playback on the computer, but are out of sync from the very beginning after I have recorded back to my camera. Have not had this problem before. Thanks for any help.
