I am new to this digital audio, but, I have a small audio recorder, and I want to capture the audio into my computer, do I need a audio capture card?, I know that the sound card that came with my computer can capture audio with window's "sound recorder", but the quality is bad and 60 seconds is the max that can be recorded. I want something better that can capture audio for at least 5mins.

Record into Vegas. Add an audio track > click the record button in the track header > adjust the output of the "audio recorder" or you may have to adjust the "line-in" fader in the Windows recording window while watching the meter in the track getting the signal as close to 0 dB without going over > click the record button in the transport.

That's the very basics but I would strongly recommend reading the Help especially the Recording chapter in Vegas and the manual for your soundcard.
