ive only just noticed this but in renders, the last few frames dont have sound. even when audio in the timeline reaches the end. plus, when i play media in the timeline, nothing gets cut off, only when i render it does it cut off.

im on windows 10 using version 15.0

(i apologize if my explanation is not the best, im bad at explaining things)

What version of VP? What file types/codecs are the source media?? What are your render settings??? Peruse **IMPORTANT!** - INFORMATION REQUIRED TO HELP YOU

As a work-around , have you tried adding a marker or empty event for a few seconds of post roll.

the media is all mp4s with the occasional mp3 separate.

render settings are always based on the presets, most commonly 720p 25fps

and considering i dont intend to trim the final render outside of vegas, ive never added markers nor added empty events

Presumably it's a few frames of actual audio that you've trimmed and lost. With mp3 files they are not recommended for precise editing due to the nature of their compression. The result is on rendering cuts don't exactly appear where you intended them. I don't know about the accuracy of mp4 which is just a container, it's the audio inside that matters probably AAC?

Anyway convert your mp3 to wav and use the wav file which should give you precise accuracy.

MP3s should generally be avoided in the editing stage (especially in a 'destructive' editing mode) and can cause sync issues. The codec was developed as an end-user format.
