Audio Device type shortcut

Although it only takes a few seconds to go into preferences to change from wave driver to firepod, and verse viza, I find myself wishing that there could be someway I could change the audio device types from an icon on the toolbar. I have looked for a way to do this but obviously haven't found it yet. So, is there a way to directly access "audio device type" from the toolbar and/or keystroke? I've enjoyed and learned from these threads for years. Thankyou All!

No, there is no direct means to do what you want.

Thanks for the fast answer Peter. I would like to place this on a wish list if possible. The reason is that when I go under the headphones, I can't tell whether the monitor speakers are on or off. We record and listen to play back in the same room in our "home studio" (living room). By switching Audio Device type, it insures that the monitors are off when recording.
