I start recording audio and when i am finished instead of building peeks, it just flat lines. i have the length just no sound waves whats the deal?
Anyone help please.
Just for some more info the only thing I am doing is creating CD's. After Iām done editing them I burn a CD and convert it to mp3 for online downloads.
In the recording Track List 'header' are the meters indicating anything, and can you hear anything ? You may be hearing directly from your audio interface mixer and default audio mapper device, rather than it actually going to/through Vegas.
If not, check that you have selected the the correct driver for your audio interface.
Also, once the record side is fixed, do you need to go through the CD writing process at all ? You could just convert (Render As) the recorded files directly to MP3 ? Of course I do recommend a CD for archival (and full-quality) purposes, which may or may not be of value to you...
During the actual recording, the wave forms are drawn?
I HAVE WAVE FORMS EVERYTHING LOOKS AS IT IS SUPPOSE TO
Are you prompted to save/name the audio file after recording?
WHEN I HIT STOP ALL WAVE FORMS FLAT LINE
Does the recorded file exist on your harddrive after the recording?
YES IT SHOW LENGTH OF TIME BUT THERE IS NOTHING THERE WHEN I HIT PLAY
What is your project sample rate and bit depth?
IL GET BACK WITH THAT
What audio hardware are you using?
IL GET BACK WITH THAT
What audio driver model are you using in Vegas: ASIO, Mapper, Wave Classic?
IL GET BACK WITH THAT
Also it seems to be an intermediate problem. It is unpredictable when it happens. I did a self test on the system taking five minute recordings and I would say that 3 out of 5 times it will flat line the recording after I hit my stop button.
