Audio distorted when trying to edit imported from Zoom MP4

Hello,

I have Vegas Pro 21.0.

This is something that has happened recently because I haven't seen this happen before.

After recording a Zoom meeting, the meeting is rendered to a MP4 in Zoom.

If I view that meeting on a viewer, it looks and sounds great.

However, if I take that same Zoom MP4 and take it into Vegas Pro 21.0 to edit into a smaller clip, the audio is distorted.

How can I fix the distorted audio issue from the Zoom MP4 in order to edit the videos?

My hardware that I'm running this on is a DESKTOP- G32NMU24 OptiPlex 3000. I have Microsoft 365 and Windows 11.

Please post the MediaInfo.

Try transcoding the MP4 file's audio to PCM <.wav> or other compatible format online or in another application like Handbrake. MP4 videos typically have AAC audio but the Zoom audio codec may not be compatible with the one in Vegas for some reason.

btw, welcome to the Magix Vegas users community @RobDeeAnne-Gunnemann.

I was able to figure it out.

I uploaded the Zoom MP4 to YouTube as Unlisted.

Then, I used Real Player download to download that new YouTube video.

I then imported that Real Player download into Vegas, and the audio was not distorted.

Thanks for the help.
